News:

Benjamin Schweitzer receives the Wilfried-Steinbrenner-Award for 2010.

The chamber ballet nach Hause, the third collaboration of Benjamin Schweitzer and choreographer Martin Nachbar, receives a substantial support by the Capital Cultural Fund of Berlin (Hauptstadtkulturfonds). The piece will be premiered on October 7, 2010, in the Sophiensaele theatre, followed by a series of performances.

Theo Nabicht recorded maverick I for contrabass clarinet in the Alte Sendesaal of Radio Bremen. The CD has been released on the edition zeitklang label and can be ordered here.

Peter Eötvös selected Benjamin Schweitzer for a residency at the Herrenhaus Edenkoben during the first half of 2010.

The next production of Schweitzer’s opera Jakob von Gunten will take place in St. Gallen (Switzerland) in spring 2010 (Premiere: April 15, followed by several performances in April and May).

The CD with new works inspired by Max Beckmann’s „Apokalypse“ – including Schweitzer’s Drohungen - recorded by the ensemble phorminx has been released by WERGO in cooperation with "edition neue zeitschrift für musik"
